“Booth space for exhibitors is busting at the seams, which is another indicator the auto industry is showing signs of recovery,” said Steve Pitt, NADA vice president of conventions and expositions. “We have a growing waiting list of companies that want to exhibit.”
For the 2012 NADA Convention and Expo, which runs Feb. 3-6, there are nearly 500 companies exhibiting in more than 1 million square feet of floor space at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This is a 30 percent increase in the total number of exhibitors from the past convention.
Additionally, convention registration is up nearly 20 percent. Six hotels in Las Vegas have already sold out.
Some 120 companies are exhibiting for the first time at the NADA expo, which will showcase hundreds of innovative products and the latest technologies.
Convention attendees are encouraged to log on to “myNADAplanner,” an online tool that connects buyers and sellers on the expo floor. It also provides an advance look at the exhibitor list, as well as advertised “show specials” that will be available on the expo floor.
This also marks the first time that the American Truck Dealers (ATD) Convention and Expo will be held in conjunction with the NADA convention.

The NADA Story
The NADA story began in 1917 when 30 auto dealers traveled to the nation’s capital to convince Congress not to impose a luxury tax on the automobile. They successfully argued that the automobile is a necessity of American life, not a luxury. From that experience was born the National Automobile Dealers Association. Today, NADA represents nearly 16,000 new-car and -truck dealerships with 32,500 franchises, both domestic and international. For more information, visitwww.nada.org.
About ATD
The American Truck Dealers represents about 2,000 medium- and heavy-duty truck dealers. ATD members share in NADA’s programs, services and benefits. ATD hosts an annual convention and expo for dealers and dealership managers. For more information, visit www.atd.org.
