Service appointment coordinator charged with embezzling from AZ dealership, from Dealers Edge.
It is a routine transaction in all car dealerships. Service customers pay their bills with a credit card and the store gets the credit. But sometimes, and for legitimate reasons, the transaction has to be reversed and re-processed. The service appointment coordinator at a Chevrolet dealership in Arizona spotted a weakness in her employer’s processes and capitalized on it. Now she will have to face a judge to explain her actions.
Police in Mesa, Arizona, arrested a 33-year-old employee at a Chevrolet dealership because investigators believe she embezzled more than $13,000 by reversing charges for auto repairs and adding them to her personal credit card, according to the police report.
Jennifer Enriquez was employed as a service appointment coordinator at the dealership where she had access to credit card information on all customers who brought their cars and trucks in for service.
